Travelling Exhibit: Art of Migration

Join us at 6 pm, Tuesday, February 10th for an opening reception for the Art of Migration exhibit. This new touring exhibition is presented in partnership with the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy. Local artists have been paired with newcomers to create a piece of art in their chosen medium that depicts the unique challenges, triumphs, and realities of the migration process. This exciting exhibit will be on display at the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre from February 10th to February 15th. Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about the positive impact of welcoming newcomers to our communities.

Winter Carnival Exhibit at Curiosity Clothing!

Have you heard about Rossland’s masquerades on ice? These large costume contests often took place at the beginning of the Winter Carnival and could draw crowds to rival those of the sporting events. Our new exhibit "Expression in Disguise: The Rossland Winter Carnival Masquerade on Ice" explores the early masquerades and the freedom Rosslanders had to explore who they were - if only for an evening - through costume, performance, and play. "Expression in Disguise" is on display at Curiosity Clothing and Gifts until January 30th!

Defying Domesticity - New Exhibit at Curiosity!

In honor of Golden City Days, our summer Collections Assistant, Madysson Weatherford, curated a new exhibit that explores women in early Rossland from 1890s-1940s. Featuring artifacts, photographs, and ads from the RMDC collection, Defying Domesticity: Women in Early Rossland, provides a lens into four prominent areas of society where women played an important role in building the foundation of the town!
