March Speaker Series with Terry LePage: The Klister Klub

6 pm on Thursday, March 26th, 2026 at the Rossland Museum

We're sure you've heard about the Klister Klub! A group of skiers from the Trail Ski Club built a cabin in 1939 that would become a hub of ski touring and adventuring for decades. The cabin was built from wood logged on site — all other supplies had to be hiked up to Cabin Flats in the basin between Granite and Grey Mountains. Many of those same skiers went on to be key players in planning and building the area's first chair lift and establishing the Red Mountain Ski Club in 1947. Prior to the construction of the Granite Chair, the Klister Klub cabin was only accessible by hiking or ski touring, yet it continued to be a popular place for members — especially on full moon nights. Klister Klub members continued to maintain and repair the main cabin through the 1970s and 80s, through to present day.

Come out to the Museum at 6 pm on Thursday, March 26th, to hear long-time Klister Klub member Terry Lepage confirm some of the lore of this long-standing Rossland institution and the members who contributed so much to the Red Mountain ski area.

Entry by Donation. Treats/refreshments provided.
