Celebrate Canada at the Rossland Museum
June 2025 is packed with events, activities, and ideas to celebrate in the lead-up to July 1st! The Rossland Museum will be open with free entry (donations welcome) on each of the Celebrate Canada Days: National Indigenous People’s Day, St. Jean Baptiste Day, National Multiculturalism Day, and Canada Day!
National Indigenous People's Day: June 21st
Drop by the Museum - we're open by donation all day! Join us for the official opening of our new Sinixt Foundations exhibit.
Plus, check out our newly revitalized discovery kit about Indigenous basketry of the region, listen to recordings of oral history stories from Sinixt knowledge-keepers, and watch our short film, Learning mxiɬp: Cedar in the Sinixt Homeland.
Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day - June 24th
Join us at the Museum - we’ll be open by donation with activities and crafts to celebrate Francophone language and traditions. We’ll also be showing a French-language film in our theatre.
National Multiculturalism Day: June 27th
We'll be open by donation all day with special displays featuring the history and historical wrongs experienced by Chinese Canadians, voting rights and suffrage, Indigenous basketry of the region, and more.
Canada Day: July 1st
Mark your calendars for another amazing day for our annual Rossland Canada Day celebrations at the Museum. We're open with an amazing line-up of activities, ceremony, cake, and live music from 11 am to 4 pm. Check out our games and activities, grab some tacos, hot dogs, and a cold drink, and settle down to enjoy the show. The ceremony starts at 12 noon, but the bouncy castle will open at 11, so don't wait! Entry by donation. This event is funded in part by the Government of Canada and Tourism Rossland.
