Battery Drop-Off

Drop off your household batteries at the Museum!

Spring cleaning your junk drawers? We can help! The Rossland Museum is joining the Rossland Public Library as a newly designated household battery recycling drop-off spot in partnership with Call2Recycle.

You can now bring in your used household batteries — both single-use (AA, AAA, 9V, button cells) and rechargeable (from power tools, laptops, etc.) under 5 kg — and drop them off safely with us.

How to prepare your batteries for drop-off: According to safety regulations, certain batteries can spark if they touch. Before you head over, please either bag your batteries in individual clear plastic bags or tape the terminals (using clear packing, duct, or electrical tape). This is especially important for lithium, button cell, and rechargeable types. We have the baggies on hand, too.

Drop them off next time you visit to keep heavy metals out of our landfills and turn yesterday’s electronics into tomorrow's resources!

Bring them by and participate in the local circular economy — many of these metals are recycled right down the hill in Trail!
