Upcoming Outreach Exhibits: BC Winter Games
The BC Winter Games are almost here and we can't wait! We’ve been gearing up to bring some great outreach exhibits to downtown Rossland, highlighting the town’s history of some of the events featured at the Games.
The Prestige Mountain Resort will be hosting A Legend Carved in the Slopes, an exhibit that explores one of Rossland’s most invigorating races - the Grey Mountain Grind. The race only took place in the years 1943-46, but it helped reinvigorate the passion for ski racing in Rossland. Featuring a recreation of Len Camozzi’s outfit in the 1946 Grey Mountain Grind and Ches Edwards’s winning trophies, A Legend Carved in the Slopes will be on Display from February 20 - May 8.
A2022.000.002.0215 - Rossland Figure Skating Club - “Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe” performance at the 1967 Centennial celebrations
The Rossland Library will be hosting a small exhibit on Figure Skating. This is a sport that we don't have much representation for at the museum, so please get in touch if you have pictures, artifacts, or stories you would like to share with us! On display February 24 - March 5
Are you nuts about Nordic? Curiosity Clothing & Gifts will be hosting our Nordic skiing display from February 20 - March 5. Exploring the history of cross-country skiing in Rossland and highlighting athletes like George Grey and Al Fisher, this is one exhibit you won't want to miss!
