We've got five exciting themes for NINE jam-packed weeks of fun this summer: Camp Create, Drama-Rama, Super Sleuths, Eco Adventurers, and Junior Shredders & Engineers.
Each week will include plenty of outdoor adventure, STEAM learning, and community organization & local artist support!

2026 Themes

July 6th - 10th | July 20th - July 24th
This camp is for the kids who can't wait to entertain and be entertained. Explore various performing art styles, consider classic film, and have a whole lot of fun learning the joy of group performance. Are you Rossland's next big star?!

August 4th - 7th | August 24th - 28th
This one is for the creatives! Whether your passion lies in colours and beauty or the boldly buildable, this camp has something for every creative kid. With Makers’ Mornings and Artists’ Afternoons, participants will find fun in activities ranging from painting to engineering and everything in between.

July 13th - 17th | August 17th - 21st
With a blend of adventure and ecology, this camp is sure to keep the attention of nature nuts and thrill-seekers alike. Whether it's investigating animal tracks, exploring Flux Climbing, or anything in between, our Eco Adventurers will live up to their name.

August 10th - August 14th
Rosslanders are no strangers to digging, but this camp puts a whole new spin on what we can uncover when we delve into the history of this vibrant mining town. Become a museum detective for the week to learn all the super-sleuthing skills - and you may even solve a robbery!

July 27th - 31st | August 31st - September 4th
Our Junior Shredders & Engineers will enjoy bike-themed engineering and creative activities, explore how to care for their equipment and the trails, and learn technical biking skills with the fantastic coaches from Kootenay Mountain Biking!
12 spaces are available in each camp, with 6 spaces reserved for novice riders and 6 spaces reserved for intermediate riders. The Monday and Wednesday of each camp will be museum days (not on bikes), while the Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday will be on bike with Kootenay Mountain Biking. Days on bike will include mornings as a full group of 12 and afternoons in skill-level groups (6 per group).
Junior Shredders Minimum Riding Requirement: Participants must be able to independently and safely ride on flat ground, slight uphills, and downhills, including pedaling and braking without assistance.
PLEASE NOTE: These camps will not have a membership discount but a flat rate of $290/camper.
Counselor-in-Training Opportunity!
Is your 11–13 year-old ready to build leadership skills, confidence, and hands-on experience in a fun and supportive environment? Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program lets youth join select camp weeks to learn from experienced leaders while assisting with activities.
CIT registration is 50% of the regular camper fee, making it an affordable way to gain valuable experience.

Camp Black Bear: The Nitty-Gritty Details
AGES:
5 to 10 - Kids must be turning six by December 2026 and have been in Kindergarten this past school year.
COST:
5-day = $235/week (10% discount for members)
4-day = $190 (10% discount for members)
Junior Shredders & Engineers 5-day = $290* NO MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNT FOR JUNIOR SHREDDERS CAMPS
TIME:
9 am - 4 pm (8:30-9 am drop off; 4-4:30 pm pick-up).

*NOTE* CANCELLATION POLICY
We have a tiered cancellation policy:
Cancellations made 4+ before the first day of camp: 75% refund, less a $25 administration fee.
Cancellations made 2-4 weeks before the first day of camp: 50% refund, less a $25 administration fee.
Cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the first day of camp: No refund.
OTHER DETAILS:
Must bring two snacks, a lunch (no peanuts), water bottle, sun protection, outdoor clothing, and backpack. Special equipment required for some weeks (e.g. Bike Skills, hikes), but if this is of any concern, let us know!
