The Rossland Museum's Sarah Taekema-Slot interviews Mary Vickers about her life in Rossland. Topics include MacLean and Cook Schools, growing up in Balfour, Bill Vicker playing and coaching hockey, skiing, Sacred Heart Catholic Church's Catholic Women’s League, Father Mac, golfing, and the Trail Times Ski School, among other topics. This interview was conducted on March 12, 2020, as part of the Rossland Memories Oral History Project.

Mary Vickers (née Ling) was born on December 18, 1922, in Balfour, B.C. and was one of ten children. Growing up, she lived in both Balfour and Rossland for periods, but moved to Nelson after graduating high school. It was here that she met her beloved husband, Bill Vickers. Together, Mary and Bill raised a family of seven children and spent 72 years together until Bill passed in 2019. Mary passed away on August 8, 2020.
