After graduating high school, Gael attended Queen’s University before returning to Rossland, where she met her husband Stan. Gael and Stan got married in 1955 and spent over 60 years together before Stan passed away in 2016. Together, Gael and Stan had two children - John and Jane. Throughout her life, Gael has been an active outdoorswoman, spending much of her time skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and generally exploring the world around her.
