Rossland Community Cultural Forum
Oct 4, Miner's Hall
After hearing about the success of Community Cultural Forums around BC, the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre contacted Patricia Huntsman of ArtsBC to discuss the feasibility of hosting a Community Cultural Forum in our community as well. We are pleased to announce that Patricia will be hosting one of ArtsBC’s Cultural Forum’s here in Rossland the first week of October 2018!
Community Cultural Forums are part of Arts BC’s Knowledge Sharing services to help build the capacity of arts and culture leaders in communities around the province. These Forums are designed to be day-long professional development programs tailored to arts and culture community’s needs.
What is the state of culture in Rossland and what is the vision for the future? Culture defines who we are as a people; keeping alive our past, reflecting our values, articulating our dreams and fostering pride in who we are. It gives us the unique sense of place and identity that shapes our community. A new Cultural Plan will help guide the City’s role and investment in arts and cultural services over the years to come.
Let’s get together and talk about our arts & cultural needs as a community! Join us for a specialized day of learning, dialogue, and exchange. Topics covered will include: Cultural Planning, building volunteer programs, and fundraising. Please mark your calendars and register as soon as possible.
We are very excited to host this event in our beautiful city and hope to see you there! We ask that you please share this information and email with your members and watch for further announcements and sign up information to come.
Topics to be covered at the Conference:
Cultural Development and Planning
Strategic Partnerships and Collaborations
Cultural Round table---lunch session
Policies and Procedures- What you need to know
