June happenings at the Rossland Museum 🍁

We’ve switched to our Summer Hours! The Museum is open from 10 am to 6 pm seven days a week.

Guided tours of the outdoor exhibits are available at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm - included in admission!

The Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre is thrilled to announce a significant milestone: a $1,000,000 grant from the Province of British Columbia through the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program (REDIP). That brings our project to $5 million raised! We expect to be breaking ground very soon.

Celebrate Canada at the Rossland Museum

June 2025 is packed with events, activities, and ideas to celebrate in the lead-up to July 1st! The Rossland Museum will be open with free entry (donations welcome) on each of the four Celebrate Canada Days.

Genealogy Club

Are you interested in working on your family tree? Have you hit some research “brick walls"? Found an incredible source you can't find anyone to gush over with? Come tell us all about it. Bring your stuff, and we can work together to help thwart those research brick walls and develop some new paths.

1971.373.1 - Fire Alarm Box

Dates to early-1900s
How you alerted the fire department that there was a fire
Sent a telegraph signal to the fire department the corresponded with the box number
Rossland had approximately 30 fire alarm boxes in use during the 1920s and 1930s.

CP Caboose 437145

Built in 1945
Outfitted with three bunks, a stove, water tank, storage cupboards, refrigerator, and bathroom
Used for years between Tadanac and Warfield before it retired in the 1980s
Came to museum in 1989 and was restored in 1992
