On Wednesday, April 22nd, stop by the Museum for some excellent Earth Day ecological explorations! We'll be open by donation, 10 am to 5 pm, so you can visit our travelling exhibit from the Royal BC Museum — BC’s Marvellous Mushrooms — then choose your fungi-fueled adventure.

Back by popular demand, Rebecca Fux is leading another art workshop you won't want to miss! Taking inspiration from our current travelling exhibit: BC's Marvellous Mushrooms, Rebecca will lead a guided instruction on scientific illustrations! Her primary goal remains encouraging creative expression and fun. All skill levels are welcome, and supplies (and refreshments!) will be provided.
Registration is limited, so pre-registration is required.

The date of Aerin’s Speaker Series has moved up a week! If you know anyone interested in coming, make sure they know it’s now scheduled for Thursday, April 23rd.

At 2:30 am on June 29th, 2025, Rosslander Aerin Bowers set out to swim the English Channel. Sixteen hours and 33 minutes later, she walked onto a beach in France. The marathon feat was a culmination of a dream — and years of training. Come out to the Museum at 6 pm on Thursday, April 23rd, to hear the whole story, from training and logistical challenges to battling tides and encounters with jellyfish!

The Royal BC Museum’s BC’s Marvellous Mushrooms will be on display at the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre from April 9th to July 14th, 2026. Entrance is included in regular admission - free for museum members!

Featuring interpretive graphic panels, 3D-printed mushroom models and foraging equipment, the exhibition facilitates visitors’ understanding of BC mushrooms and their many uses.
