The Museum is open year-round! Summer Hours began May 19 - open 10 am to 6 pm, seven days a week. Guided tours of the outdoor exhibits (included in admission) at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm daily through June, July, and August – and available by appointment through May.

BC Museums Week

May 17-23 2026

For BC Museums Week 2026, the theme is Museums Matter – From Awareness to Action. We’re open by donation from 10-6 all week. Stop by for a visit!

Genealogy Club

The Genealogy Club meets on the last Tuesday of the month and is open to everyone! The next gathering is 1-3 pm on Tuesday, May 26. Bring your materials and join in for advice, support, and camaraderie in your genealogical quests. For more information about the working group, get in touch with Fiona at admin@rosslandmuseum.ca.

Canada Day in Rossland

Come out to the Rossland Museum for July 1st - we have an amazing line-up of activities, ceremony, community groups, cake, and live music from 11 am to 4 pm. Check out our games, crafts, and bouncy house fun, grab some food, and settle down to enjoy the show. The ceremony starts at noon, with an address by the Mayor, singing of O Canada, and - of course - cake! Free admission – donations welcomed!

1974.609.1 - Hunter Bros. Store Money Carrier

Money carrier was on a wire system and would have whizzed through the store, taking money back to the office
Hunter Brothers Store was founded by brothers James and Robert Hunter in 1895
Store moved to corner of Columbia & Washington in 1905 and was the biggest retail space in Rossland
Store was sold to Eaton's Canada in 1959

2025.4.1 - Jennie Henderson's Dresser Set

Dates from the 1920s
Jennie first visited Rossland in 1915, but didn't move until 1917
Jennie Henderson was one of six Henderson siblings who moved from Ontario to Rossland
Worked for her brother's livery company and garage (Henderson's Livery, Henderson's Garage)

Battery Drop-Off

Drop off your household batteries at the Museum! The Rossland Museum is joining the Rossland Public Library as a newly-designated household battery recycling drop-off spot in partnership with Call2Recycle.
