May 15 Pro D Day Workshop with Sarah Parrell: Make a DIY Coin Snatching Bank!

Join guest artist Sarah Parrell for a special Pro D Day workshop to create your very own custom DIY Coin Snatching Bank! Armed with cardboard, creativity, and a bit of glue gun magic, kids will build their own custom, crank-activated banks to stash coins and tiny treasures.

Travelling Exhibit: BC’s Marvellous Mushrooms

BC’s Marvellous Mushrooms will be on display at the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre from April 9th to July 14th, 2026. Entrance is included in regular admission - free for museum members!

Genealogy Club

The Genealogy Club meets on the last Tuesday of the month and is open to everyone! The next gathering is 1-3 pm on Tuesday, April 28. Bring your materials and join in for advice, support, and camaraderie in your genealogical quests. For more information about the working group, get in touch with Fiona at admin@rosslandmuseum.ca.

Join us at the Rossland Public Library on May 13th for a workshop on deciphering tricky handwriting. Learn simple techniques for recognizing letter shapes, understanding historical styles, and spotting common patterns to make handwritten script easier to read. Feel free to bring along an example you've been struggling with – we can work through it together!

In 1968, the Rossland Historical Museum's Jack McDonald interviewed Clarence Darrow Casey about growing up in Rossland and his father's history with the Western Federation of Miners' Union. They discussed the origins of his name, his father's involvement in the union and politics, family friends, and Casey's brother being born in Miners' Union Hall.

Owned by William "Bill" Jovanovic who played for the team in 1956
The Capilanos were part of the West Kootenay Border League in the 1950s, and won the Kootenay Championships in 1957

1954.4.1 - A.S. Goodeve Cup

Trophy for the Championship of the Industrial League of the Rossland City Football Club
Dates back to the early 1910s and won by the Le Roi team in 1915
Named after Arthur Goodeve, a prominent Rossland businessman and politician
