This November, we researched two new Rosslanders who served in WWII — Telegrapher, Alexander Turner and Private Jimmy Wright — and added their profiles to our temporary Veterans’ Week exhibit “Their Finest Hour,” as well as added them to our website. We are honoured to tell a small part of their stories. |

2011.1.2 - Le Roi Brewing Company bottle Le Roi Brewing Company, founded by Hugh Henderson and William Allen in 1897, was located on Le Roi Avenue, just west of Spokane Street The Le Roi was approached by the Lion Brewing Co to be part of their combine, but declined because they could survive on their own Dominated the local market until 1917 Unlike the other companies, they named their beers, including Gold Seal Lager and Famous Perfection Beer Forced to close in 1917 because of Prohibition

Celebrated their 13th anniversary in June 2025
