FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RMDC June 2015 Press Release – Canada DayROSSLAND, BC – Rossland’s Canada Day Festivities are moving from Pioneer Park to the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre

The Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre is excited to announce that it will be working with the City of Rossland to carry out Rossland’s Canada Day Festivities this year. With that comes a change in venue for Rossland’s annual Canada Day event.

On July 1st, 2015, the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre will hold the community-wide Canada Day celebration on the grounds of the Rossland Museum. This will begin with the annual hike to Mt. Roberts, carpooling from the Museum at 8am with a flag rising and group photo at 11am. The rest of the festivities will begin on the museum grounds at Noon with a BBQ, the Golden City Fiddlers, tonnes of activities and games, face painting, and much, much more! Once the hikers return at about 12:30-1, things will really get going with the Gold Fever Follies, plenty of other local Rossland talent, and cake cutting by her worship Mayor Kathy Moore, followed by the Foggy Goggle Boys – sponsored by Teck Metals. The Board and staff of the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre are very excited to take on this annual event, and along with the City of Rossland, hope to make this an exciting and fun event for everyone!

The whole community is invited to join the hike – not an easy one!, visit the museum, take in the local talent, and meet and greet their city councillors and other esteemed guests. They may even be picking up the BBQ tools or dishing out the Canada Day cake!
