ROSSLAND, BC – Brighten your life with some local art while contributing to a great community project.
The Rossland Museum and Discovery Centre has embarked on a six-phase renewal project and will soon be ready to roll on Phase I, renovation of the entrance gallery!
Thanks to the generous contributions from many agencies, including Teck Metals Ltd., Columbia Basin Trust, Western Economic Diversification Canada, and the Resort Municipality Initiative as well as local fundraisers and donations, funding for this phase is almost complete with approximately $355,000 secured to date.
Towards this goal, the museum is holding a silent art auction featuring the donated works of many local artists, including Jenny Baillie, Danielle Valade, Andy Holmes, Martine Bedard, Karen Thatcher, Louise Drescher, Dale Matthews, Stephanie Gauvin, and many more!
Everyone is welcome to sip wine and nibble cheese while perusing the works of art and chatting with the artists at the Rossland Art Gallery, 2004 Columbia Avenue in Rossland on October 15th from 7-9pm.
Their art will be on display and available for bidding through October and November at Rossland’s Nelson & District Credit Union, 2071 Columbia Avenue, Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to drop by and peruse the pieces, or view them online at www.rosslandmuseum.ca/2015art-auction
