Our Visitor Centre

next door to the main museum building offers a place to rest and relax with a great view. Vending Machines are available for snacks, ice cream and coffee.

SCHOOL GROUPS

School groups are welcome. Popular highlights are gold panning and viewing the mineral samples. Teachers are welcome to prepare their own quiz or worksheet and we have past samples available on request to be faxed. GEOLOGY GROUPS

Grade 11 through University Level students find our complex a great introduction to mining history and the geology of our area. Our Mine was an actual working Gold Mine and is inspected yearly for safety. The Geology Building has cases of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. This is an extensive collection from all over the world. There is historical geologic and processing equipment, and a hands on rock specimen display. We also have an industrial mineral collection showing the importance of minerals in Canada's history.
