Artist: Claude Stormes

Bio: Claude is native to Southern California where he received his formal training at Pierce Junior College and San Fernando Valley State College.

Japanese Sumi painting has been a strong influence on his work, and travel in Korean and Japan deepened his appreciation for the oriental approach to art and to life.

Earlier work was done in oil, egg tempera, encaustic, and oil pastel, but since moving to Canada, he has been concentrating on egg tempera, oil, and watercolours.

Claude’s work has been exhibited throughout North America, including Toronto, Ottawa, Portland, Aspen, Maui, Seattle, Rochester and Ellicottville NY, South Padre Island in Texas and Naples, Florida.

Now living in Rossland, his work can be seen at the Rossland Art Gallery, the Old Fire Hall, or at his home studio.
